College and Concussions [read: I have found my enemy, it is the snow]

If you’ve been following the weather apps, it is snowing in Boston. You already know that, you don’t need me to tell you. I do ask, however, that you keep me informed when it snows because I apparently am never prepared. Twice this week, it snowed, and twice this week I was equally as shocked as when I learned that rain can freeze and fall from the sky as ice and still not be snow. I mean what? There’s another weather condition for that?

The first snowfall this Tuesday got me. Got me right in the left buttocks [read: The name’s Forrest. Forrest Gump.] Seriously, I slipped and fell (not proudly) in the slippery snow and landed on my butt/back/head. As I rose from the bricks, the world was spinning. Not just the average “this planet rotates on an axis” spinning, this was like little cuckoos flying around my head tweeting at me in a cartoon.

The scene is set.

Luckily, some people helped me up and I wandered aimlessly into my apartment building and found my paramedic-roommate (is that a fair hyphenation?) Jenny. Or, I guess, Jenny found me, a wild Sneha, dazed and confused. And, as she soon determined, very concussed. To that I say, in my makeshift Forrest Gump voice, “I love you Jenn-nae.” We stayed up all night and survived the coma warning and then she dragged me to the doctor the next morning, who prescribed me, “Don’t do anything that requires a lot of thought, so just rest instead.” Bye, college. {Bye, Felicia}

I admit, the first snowfall is stunning. But it’s really all just fun & games until somebody gets a concussion. {Hint: that’s me}

It snowed again today, but this time I was wearing rain boots to fight back. Figuratively. My enemy may have had the advantage [read: I have no balance] but I survived this battle and am sitting warmly in my apartment watching Cutthroat Kitchen. I may still have a concussion, but you have been foiled this time, snow. Just this once. In the words of Uncle Jesse, please have mercy on me this winter & let the games begin.
